As a professor of physics at UNC-Pembroke, Dr. Jose D’Arruda teaches both physics majors and non-majors. Dr. D’Arruda is able to connect his students with the subject through the use of hands-on demonstrations and open-ended questions. His support of students learning science goes beyond UNC-Pembroke. Dr. D’Arruda has consistently supported K-12 teachers and students through his work as a co-principal investigator on an NSF grant to improve mathematics and science instruction in rural eastern North Carolina and his tireless support of science fairs for over two decades.
