The North Carolina Science, Mathematics and Technology Education Center, the Teaching Institute for Excellence in STEM (TIES) and North Carolina New Schools will co-host the third annual Scaling STEM: Strategies That Engage the Mind® conference February 17-18, 2014 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Conference Center in Durham, North Carolina. Registration for the 2014 Scaling STEM Conference is now open.
The Scaling STEM conference is an opportunity for anyone interested in education to learn from experts from across the state and nation, and with other educators, to advance Strategies That Engage Minds™. The 2014 conference will focus on supporting participants in designing for the future of learning. Drawing on the intersection of future forecasts for education and the North Carolina STEM Attributes, sessions will highlight promising practices, tools and resources for the following:
- Applied Learning, Integrated Content and Authentic, Competency-based Assessment
- Meaningful Use of Technology
- Purposeful Partnerships with Industry, Community & Higher Education
