STEM Recognition Intent to Apply for 2015-16

North Carolina is providing quality STEM education. To recognize our states finest STEM Schools and Programs, the state has developed an application process to identify and recognize exemplary STEM Schools and STEM Programs.

Schools in North Carolina planning to apply for potential STEM Recognition for the 2015-16 school year are to fill out the following intent to apply to ensure you receive information about the application, time line, and resources which will provide assistance in this process.

Intent to Apply request is due no later than Oct. 31.

Applications give schools an opportunity to describe how their programs exhibit the qualities expressed in the STEM Attribute Implementation Rubric. The three main goals are ensuring STEM programs are integrated well with other educational standards, continued involvement with the STEM industry and increased quality of secondary education.

Thirteen NC schools were given the STEM School of Distinction this past year for outstanding achievements in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
